Papers


A formal written presentation typical of those published in academic journals. Paper submissions will be subjected to a "blind," peer-review and evaluated according to the criteria below. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings:

Criteria

Submittals will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  1. Appropriate for TCC (importance to online/eLearning field).

  2. Contributes to scholarship (innovative ideas & best practices).

  3. Demonstrates appropriate application of online theory, pedagogy, or concepts.

  4. Written with quality (organization, clarity, style, etc.).

  5. Overall value to the conference.


Requirements

  1. The typical length of a PAPER is between 1000 and 2000 words (in hardcopy terms, between 4-8 double-spaced pages). We can accommodate longer papers, however.

  2. At the beginning of the paper, include the title of your presentation as well as your name(s), affiliation(s) and email addresses.

  3. At the beginning of the paper, include a brief (5-10 line) abstract, summarizing the emphasis of your presentation.

  4. Follow the APA style guide.

  5. If you include email addresses and URLs in your presentation, be sure they are accurate.


Determination
Upon review, you will be notified by email of the results, which will be:

  1. Recommend acceptance, as is.

  2. Recommend acceptance with revisions, as noted.

  3. Recommend major revision and resubmission.

  4. Rejected, with reason.


Papers rejected will not be included in the conference proceedings. However, such papers may be accepted, upon revision if required, for general sessions during the conference.


Prior to the conference, you will be notified to upload a photo and a short bio to the conference homepage.

Submission
Prepare your paper and submit it in its entirety as an email attachment to Dr. Curtis Ho <curtis@hawaii.edu>, TCC Editorial Board Chair. Send a CC to Bert Kimura <bert@hawaii.edu>, TCC Conference Coordinator.

  1. Send your attachment in MS Word (DOC) or compatible RTF format.

  2. In the BODY of your email, include a brief professional signature (rank or position, organization, contact information including a phone number, email and web address).
