FAQ

Q1: Do you have the program schedule available?

A: The final schedule is on the conference web site. Discussion forums will be developed around the interests and expertise among the registered participants. As the activities are confirmed, they will be placed on the web site.

Q2: Does it all come over the computer? Satellite?

A: Yes, over the computer via standard Internet connections. Primarily, you will receive messages by email, view information sources at the conference web site, or participate in live interactive sessions.

Q3: Is this conference operating on Honolulu time?

A: The projected conference schedule will be posted in universal time (GMT or UTC ) as well as in Hawaiian time. Hawaiian Standard Time (HST) is GMT -1000. This means that 12 noon in Honolulu is 6 PM in New York, 10 PM in London and 7 AM the following day in Tokyo. However, because the conference is held in virtual space, you can log in at any time. The exceptions are live sessions, which will be scheduled throughout the three days; thus you should be able to fit some of them into your day schedule. You may also need to adapt to GMT to participate in some of the sessions. Transcripts and recordings of live sessions will be archived for later review. If you miss a session, you can always review it later.

Q4: How do I determine my local time according to your schedule?

A: When you log in to the conference, hopefully during the pre-conference, you may specify your local time-zone. All scheduled events, therefore, will be displayed in your local time. Additionally, conference participants have provided excellent suggestions. See one of the following sites:
