I, like Elaine Hoter, am involved in EFL teacher training. We have the
available technology in our college, Beit Berl College, and as each trainee
enters the college, they get an email address.
I spend two year with our trainees - in the first year when they learn what we
call "computer culture" and then again in their third yearin a course called
"using cmc in the efl classroom." In the past two years, I've taught the third
year course concentrating exclusively on working on the www and using email. I
created my own sites that hfelped me along but today they look so outdated
(graphically) that I'm revising them. If you'd like to get an idea though of
what I'm doing, go to
http://www.beitberl.ac.il/~jean/CALL98/eflsurf.htm
Let me know and I'll send you the new URL when I'm ffinished revising.
Other than that, as Elaine Hoter writes, we are co-owners of a site called
English as a Foreign Language for Teacher Trainers
http://www.macam98.ac.il/~ett
Please have a look and send us comments, suggestions etc.
Looking forward to hearing about more programs out there.
Yours,
Jean Vermel
