I assume that most places of "higher ed" have something in place to deal
with curriculum development and quality, but with the rapid pace of online
technology etc. it seems that in many of these same places, the folks who
are developing the online materials, offerings and so forth and the
"pioneers".... and many of their colleagues (including many on the
curriculum committees) are not up-to-speed themselves to be able to evaluate
adequately. In places where faculty and staff are just about mastering
e-mail, for example, what could one expect from a curriculum review
committee in assessing the quality of online delivery of courses and
materials?
