Hello all,

For those of us who heartily support WAOE and its mission, but never
seem to catch up on the lists fast enough to fully participate, I want
to thank all those who are donating their time to get this off the
ground. I also wanted to pass on this info about a seminar which is
attempting to provide a global education experience based on the G-8
Summit in England this year. It's free and will be trying to use the
latest in online education techniques, so you may want to check it out!

This email is to inform you about the upcoming "Birmingham Summit of the
Eight on the Internet." Last year, the University of Colorado at Denver
offered an online course entitled the "Denver Summit of the Eight and
World Affairs" which was a phenomenal success and involved more than 600
participants in the course.
This year rather than limiting the Summit to a strictly academic scope
we have developed a model for global public education delivered through
the Internet: "Birmingham Summit of the Eight on the Internet." Our
highly sophisticated and interactive multimedia project on the Internet
will connect individuals from all parts of the world-from Birmingham to
Moscow, from Tokyo to Sienna, and from Lyons to Markdorf-in pursuit of
worldwide education for a better future in the 21st century.

Real Education, Inc., is providing the technological means for enabling
students and educators worldwide to participate as online attendees of
the "Birmingham Summit of the Eight on the Internet," May 12 - 17, 1998,
by accessing and registering for free at http://g8.realeducation.com.
This is a great opportunity for students and faculty to learn more about
the global issues and the international policies of the most powerful
governments in the world. Online participants will have direct access to
behind-the-scene issues that are often encapsulated for mass
distribution. Students are encouraged to attend live interviews with
world leaders and participate in chat rooms and threaded discussions
over the Internet on several topics including:

á The Integration of Russia in the Western Alliance
á Human Rights Development and Environmental Concerns
á Visions of Democracy in the 21st Century
á Multilateral Trade, Investments and Labor Relations
á And, Other Special Summit Agenda Topics

As more and more businesses become international in their focus, there
is going to be an increasing need for a workforce that is informed about
international politics, affairs, and economics. This project is a step
ahead of the rest by giving you a chance now to be educated about
pertinent information with a global concern. The Birmingham Summit of
the Eight on the Internet will help lift the physical and distance
barriers to learning and understanding. When the most powerful leaders
of the world meet in Birmingham, United Kingdom, we find it critical not
only to deliver Summit information, but also to promote an atmosphere
where the exchange of ideas can occur, free from any hindrance.

Registration is free! Point your browser to http://g8.realeducation.com
and join this extraordinary event. Sign up your university, college,
department, and class, or as an individual interested in global issues,
today.

This project is lead by Project Director Colton Alton and Project
Coordinator Dr. Robert Hazan. Become part of this vision. "The
Birmingham Summit of the Eight on the Internet"-Fulfilling your needs
into the next century.
