E-Journal

Julia Keefer <jk12@is3.nyu.edu> quickly took up my suggestion of WAOE
having a Research and Publications Committee featuring a _WWW Journal of
Online Education_. The rationale for the "WWW" part is that e-journals
do not all support hypertextuality and the conditions required to be
indexed by search engines. WAOE begins with that era of worldwide access
and Web-based approaches.

Before Julia calls for manuscripts, though, those interested in serving
on the Research and Publications Committee should probably contact Julia
Keefer <jk12@is3.nyu.edu>, who could later report on the committee's
composition and activities. The rest of us can also offer our feedback
as to just what kind of e-journal this will be.

In my view the refereed manuscripts should represent socially useful
research with international scope or significance.

Some of Julia's interesting description sounded like an electronic
version of _The New Yorker_ ; - ). There are e-zines as well as
e-journals, and one e-zine that is academically based with stunning
graphics is _Webgeist_. It even has a column by an Orientologist whose
identity escapes me at the moment. See URL:
