Hi guys.... becoming official as an organization and becoming
official as an incorporated body are two different things. Mihkel
is right that if we are talking about becoming a non profit corporation,
we need to look into the legal requirements. Laws for incorporation
vary between countries. In the states, corporations are governed by
State law, not federal law but that might not be true in many other
countries.

I think our best bet is to have someone contact some other similar
non profit international associations and find out how they deal
with this issue and what legal problems, if any, they encounter.

Since we are not a profit making organization, I wouldn't think we would
have to register in any other countries than in the country of incorporation
like profit making corporations which establish a presence in another
state must (there are foreign corporations--same country, different state--
and alien corporations--different country).

Let's not get bogged down in legal issues at the moment though--we need
to finalize the Mission or Goals of the WAOE and an initial working structure
that would allow us to accomplish this Mission in the least restrictive way.

So let's focus on these issues and then decide whether we should
incorporate or not, and where. Meanwhile someone could check out
how other non profit international organizations have handled this and
report back to us.

cheers!
